🧐 Happy gut, happy brain? Here’s what no one tells you.
Ever feel mentally worse after eating?
Or notice your anxiety flares up… the same days you’re bloated?
That’s not random.
It’s the gut-brain axis in action.
🧠 90% of your serotonin—the feel-good neurotransmitter—is made in your gut.
If your gut’s inflamed, sluggish, or out of balance… your mood suffers too.
This can show up as:
Anxiety that feels disconnected from life stress
Brain fog and irritability after meals
Depression-like symptoms that don’t respond to therapy
A flat, numb emotional state (even when life is “fine”)
The solution?
Stop treating the brain like it’s separate from the rest of your body.
✨ Here’s what actually helps:
Eat more prebiotic-rich foods: artichokes, garlic, leeks, green bananas
Incorporate fermented foods like kefir, kimchi, or sauerkraut 3x/week
Try 3 minutes of deep breathing before meals to calm the vagus nerve and support digestion

TOOL Of The Week: VAGUS nerve activation routine
Your vagus nerve is the superhighway between your gut and brain. When it’s sluggish, digestion and mood both take a hit.
Try this simple 3-minute daily reset:
Cold face splash (or end your shower with 30 seconds of cold water)
Humming or chanting (stimulates vagal tone)
Slow, extended exhales (inhale 4, exhale 8)
Do it once a day—ideally before meals or when your anxiety flares.
If therapy hasn’t been enough… maybe it’s time to start with your gut.
